Postdoctoral

The Graduate Program in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering (PG-EAM) at ITA welcomes postdoctoral researchers who wish to develop advanced research projects in collaboration with our faculty.

If you are a researcher interested in pursuing a postdoctoral position at PG-EAM, we recommend contacting professors whose research lines align with yours. Visit Research Areas and Faculty to identify potential supervisors.

Postdoctoral Habilitation

The NPA-ITA-017B-23 regulation defines the postdoctoral researcher position at IP (ITA’s Graduate Studies Office), as specified in items 6.2.1 to 6.3.2 (pp. 25–26).

Important Notes

  1. Mandatory habilitation: All postdoctoral researchers supervised by PG-EAM faculty must be habilitated at IP via PG-EAM, regardless of funding source (project grants from foundations, FAPESP, CNPq, CAPES, etc.). The postdoctoral project must have a clear research component, a plan for delivering research results to the community (e.g., journal articles), and funding.

  2. Termination communication: According to NPA-ITA-017B-23 (item 6.3.2e), it is the supervisor’s responsibility to inform the Program Coordinator and IP about any interruption or change in the postdoctoral researcher’s work plan.

  3. Supervision collaboration: Whenever possible, we encourage postdoctoral researchers to collaborate in supervising master’s and doctoral students of PG-EAM faculty members. This collaboration enriches the training of graduate students, broadens the exchange of ideas among researchers at different career stages, and promotes joint publications, strengthening the program’s academic environment and the postdoctoral researcher’s own experience.
