Abstract
The main inconveniences of vibration on aeronautical structures are discomfort caused to passenger, possibility of noise generation and fatigue (sonic and mechanical). To minimize the vibrations produced by an engine or flight loads, the aeronautical structures shall have to use shockmounts. An aeronautical structure that absorbs vibration by its own can save weight and consequently fuel and may improve its fatigue life. This work analyzes the metallurgical aspect of damping capacity of stainless SMA produced by the group aiming future application as structural aeronautic material.
