The Maneuver, Model, Method, Measures and Validation (M4V) [2], is a well known in-flight identification methodology that was applied to the VECTOR-P UAS. The maneuvers adopted to excite the lateral modes of the system were evaluated with the energy spectral density (ESD). The data was acquired during flight tests by the data acquisition system specifically developed to the Vector-P. Finally, the validation of the identified parameters was performed using statistical methods.
