Improvement of cache utilization in a parallel CFD code through mesh reordering by Hilbert curves

All rights reserved.The present work investigates the effect of reordering the nodes and elements of a grid according to the Hilbert curves on the cache utilization in an in-house parallel CFD code. A sorting algorithm is proposed based on domain decomposition techniques and the execution times are compared to those obtained by the structured grid format.
